The success of Squid Game's original Netflix show, Hoyeon, a South Korean model and actress received international recognition. In recognition of her performance that made headlines in the series, Hoyeon won the Screen Actors Guild award for Best Performance by a Female actress in a Drama Series and was awarded a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in an Drama Series.
